First loaf in 2013 :)

haven’t been here for long time…like, one and half week? I have been busy with exam recently. It’s driving me crazy! A lot to revise, a lot to work on, a lot to handle. Anyways, most of that has passed. Only one left, which doesn’t requires revision…:p

Thank you for being patient and read all these non-baking related stuffs! LOL

You know what? I am happy that the world didn’t end in 2012. Hey, if so, I have spent the last minute of my life doing revision for exam! What??? and Most of my life at school! WHATTT? and having my own bakery will never be real…WHAAATTT???

So, yup, it’s great that the world hasn’t ended yet! What have you guys been up to? 🙂

Yeah! this loaf! Seriously? it’s kind of perfect! besides a little stuck at the corners when taking it out of the loaf pan. lol

Soft. Spongy. and a perfect shape! What’s better than that? The Rich taste of milk! No liquid added besides milk! That’s what you do when you are baking for your family! 🙂 lots of nutrients!

Being really short is kind of causing some difficulties when it comes to putting stuffs into the oven, especially when my oven is placed on the microwave oven. And the microwave oven is place on the counter top. LOL ok, so you now know how short I am…Since I have almost caught a fire and burn the kitchen when placing the dough into the oven. The heat resistant oven gloves touched somewhere in the oven and it kind of burst into a little FLAME. by little, I mean, around the size of half of your palm. It just scares me to death! I managed to take out the gloves ( of course, my hands are in the gloves…) from the oven less than half a second. Fortunately, the flame went off just as soon as I pull my gloves (with my HANDS) out of the oven!  Thank God!

I see why children are not allowed to touch all these stuffs from now on…LOL

Recipe will be on sooner or later!

Stay tuned! ❤

Much love! xoxo

Say CHEEEEEEEESEEEEEE!

I have been into baking ratio recently. you know? like, figuring out how to create a recipe? playing with different kind of ingredients are just…A LOT OF FUN!!!

Image

As said in the post before, my fridge is always full of goodies. In the mean time, it also has stuffs that were bought long long time ago. They are kind of being forgotten. LOL

My mom is a typical mom, i would say. She is a never-waste-anything mom. She found some cottage cheese and Gouda cheese deep inside the freeze. Very well then, I am in charge of changing them into something fresh! 😛

It is the kind of low fat onion and garlic cottage cheese. You see that green-y onion? Image

Well, maybe it’s too small…lol

But this is a bread which is full of flavor and super rich…like, how can it not be rich? there is CHEESEEEEEEEEEEE!

however, I found it to be too oily though. I would be adding less oil next time. Even if so, it still taste pretty good!

Amended version of the recipe will be up sooner or later!

No-Bake Cake Batter Truffles

elisebakes

No-Bake Cake Batter Truffles via elisebakesI can’t tell you how many times I am tempted to leave out the eggs in a cookie recipe and just eat the dough.  No, I mean it; I can’t tell you because it would be impossible to count…it happens every time I make cookies.  These little cake batter truffles are perfect to satisfy that dough/batter craving!  Depending on what size you make them, you can get anywhere from 30-40 truffles.  I’ve used this recipe four or five times now; it’s perfect!No-Bake Cake Batter Truffles via elisebakesNo-Bake Cake Batter Truffles via elisebakes

The Twelve Days of Christmas

What’s better than food during christmas time? ❤

LondonEats

Last Christmas I got terribly ambitious and tried to make twelve different festive bakes as part of a self-imposed “Twelve Days of Baking” challenge. It was one of those things that seemed like a frankly amazing idea at the time, but with the passing of the days, it ended up in a bit of a baking binge in the kitchen, with all manner of treats being turned out at an alarming volume. I was getting through ground nuts at an fearsome rate and the oven was often on until the wee hours.

When I did this challenge last year, I asked myself whether I would be doing it again in 2012. Just for fun, let’s go back and look at what I wrote at the time:

My first instinct was “no” – I did not quite anticipate the volume of baked goods that would be coming out of the…

Strawberry Jam Bread

Soft. Air-y. Golden brown. Pale Pink.

Bread has always been one of the best thing on earth. I just can’t imagine life without bread. LOL

My super-nice aunt has made us a jar of homemade jam a few days ago. It was so fresh and, of course, sweeeeeeet! It is just plain AWESOME! As I am in mood of baking a fresh loaf of bread, I decided to put a few tbsp of it in the dough.

IMAG0332

You know what? the jam gives the bread an extra-sweetness and richness. what’s better than seeing strawberry seeds in the bread, knowing that the whole loaf is full of nutrients. yes, I didn’t add any water, just MILK.

aww...

aww…

Maybe I am weird or something. but I like poking the bread. this is the kind of bread that will not become as flat as paper after squeezing it hard. It will immediately return to its original shape! Sponge. HOW AWESOME IS THAT?

What’s better than a slice of toasted strawberry jam bread with half melted butter and a cup of coffee for breakfast? ❤

Butterscotch PB and apple Muffins!

Who doesn’t love muffins? especially with chocolate chipssssss!

like, how?

Yesterday, when I opened the fridge, which is always full of goodnesssss, I found a Butterscotch pudding snack cup that was bought a few months ago. hey, don’t worry. It hasn’t expired yet! In my kitchen, there are always fruits that are bought, like a week ago, and starting to have wrinkles like old women. LOL although they may look pretty bad, it’s the best time for changing them into something even better!
